Professional statement

Danielle Naghi (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York and New Jersey. She works with teens, adults, and couples who are experiencing issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, relationship and family concerns, academic stressors, and identity development. In all areas of her work, Danielle strives to create an environment focused on social justice. It is deeply important to her that she is able to help clients navigate issues related to experiences of racism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, ableism, and sexism.

Danielle approaches treatment from a holistic and multi-varied lens, integrating models such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), the Ackerman Relational Approach, and Trauma Theory. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Neuroscience & Behavior, and her Master's Degree in Social Work from Columbia University. Additionally, Danielle has postgraduate training in couples and family therapy from the Ackerman Institute, as well as training as an IFS therapist. Prior to starting her private practice, Danielle provided psychotherapy in community-based and school-based settings. Danielle also supervises a relationship abuse prevention program for young people.

Danielle is currently offering remote video sessions throughout the duration of the pandemic. She looks forward to meeting you!

Message to clients

I will work with you collaboratively to understand your experience, your joy, your pain, your struggles, and your goals. We all have different parts of us that make up who we are, and help us learn and grow. They influence how we feel about ourselves, our relationships, and our environments.

You may have a self-critical part, a hopeless part, a caretaking part, and many more. I truly enjoy getting to know each new client's inner world, and helping you harness your own self-love for transformative healing.

As we work together, you will better understand why you think and feel the way you do, and the patterns of interaction that can get in your way. As you increase your awareness, you will learn more skills to build healthy relationships and make choices that bring you closer to how you want to live. If that sounds interesting to you, schedule a call, and we can see if we're a good fit!
