Professional statement

Elizabeth Fulton is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. Elizabeth works with clients from both states virtually and has an office in Denver for in-person sessions, where she welcomes individual adults who are seeking change and healing in their lives.

Elizabeth completed her Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling at Wake Forest University and her Bachelor of Arts in international relations at Boston University. She thought she wanted to work in government and do something overseas. After moving to South Africa for a number of years, Elizabeth stumbled upon therapy as a client. She went through a time in her own life where she felt lost, anxious, and depressed and wasn’t sure how to navigate that. Elizabeth found a wonderful therapist, and as they say, the rest is history. She found hope, healing, inspiration, and empowerment; and little did she know at the time, her perfect career-match.

Many of Elizabeth’s clients come in to address the effects of trauma or anxiety; to navigate life changes or cultural adjustments; to receive career counseling; to process and navigate spiritual questioning or confusion; or to improve self-esteem. Additionally, Elizabeth is trained in working with issues of grief and loss, eating disorders, depression, communication skills, and relationship challenges. Elizabeth enjoys working with clients who are willing and ready to think, feel, and challenge themselves, or who want to learn how to do any of these.

After working with Elizabeth, clients will walk away feeling supported, heard, and encouraged, as well as having received practical skills and tools to use in their everyday lives.

Message to clients

Whether you're ready to jump in or you're just exploring if therapy is a good fit for you, I'm here to walk next to you on your journey. Therapy is about helping you, the client, be the best version of who you want to be, at whatever stage you’re in. We work together to help you identify and choose what you want and need in your life, and empower you to work through the things that are preventing you from being there. “The things” could be anything causing difficulty for you or keeping you "stuck"...past experiences or memories; current patterns or relationships; uncertainty or insecurity. I can help you see beyond what has been or what is, to what can be.

I offer hope; a holistic perspective; a multicultural lens; a therapeutic relationship that is empathetic, kind, patient, and relatable; positivity; and practical tools. In order to offer these, I utilize EMDR, CBT, DBT, mindfulness practices, and narrative therapy, among other tools and techniques.

As a therapist, my greatest joys are supporting my clients through their darkest moments and seeing my clients walk through those moments, making internal connections that are transformative. You are not too much and you are not beyond hope. I would be honored to walk and work with you on your journey to strength and hope.
