Emily Harlan is a Social Worker in the Boston area providing teletherapy. Emily enjoys working with college and graduate students, young professionals, as well as adults who are navigating stress, anxiety, life changes and relationship dynamics that are posing challenges in their life. Emily encourages clients to examine problematic patterns, explore potential changes and expand upon skills to strengthen coping methods and decision making. Emily integrates a number of different therapy modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectal Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing. Emily works collaboratively with clients to improve awareness, expand skills and practice making changes outside of sessions.

Emily tailors her style to meet the unique needs of each person. She is committed to building a therapeutic relationship in a non-judgmental, accepting and compassionate manner. She develops an individualized treatment plan and assesses progress in partnership the clients goals and concerns.

Emily earned her MSW from Boston College. Before opening her private practice, she worked at a residential school, a community mental health center and in a college mental health center at a local university.
