Professional statement

Hailie Baton-Kirk is a Marriage and Family Therapist in East Greenwich. She works with Individuals and Couples. Many of Hailie’s clients come in to address Trauma, relationship issues, and insecure attachment styles. Hailie is particularly passionate about serving folks who are looking for couples therapy with a trauma-informed approach. She also has advanced training in the area of PTSD, and CPTSD.

Hailie is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Relational Life Therapy, Emotions-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Hailie helps deconstruct unhelpful beliefs and behaviors that have been formed over years to understand where and how they formed and to re-construct your way of functioning into something much healthier for you personally and relationally. In session, Hailie focuses on psychoeducation, building solid skills for nervous system regulation, communication/assertiveness, and skills for identifying and interrupting unhealthy cycles. This approach supports clients to feel more at ease in their relationships, experience/process their own emotions, and feel more confident in breaking unhealthy cycles.

Hailie's style is direct, goal-oriented, and non-judgmental. When clients first start therapy, Hailie will help identify expectations/goals, end each session with a new skill or intervention to implement outside of session, and create a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship to help achieve goals.

Hailie received her Master's Degree from the University of Rhode Island. She has worked in community mental health, serving the most vulnerable families and individuals with acute struggles in school-based and in-home environments. Outside of private practice, she enjoys cooking homemade meals (current obsession with Mexican cuisine), spending time in nature hiking, kayaking, and paddle-boarding, loves reading and is an avid dog-lover. Offers both in-person and remote sessions, the office in East Greenwich is conveniently located on South County Trail, directly accessible from rt. 4 South and North
