Professional statement

Heather Montemarano, ATR-BC, LPAT. LCAT is a registered, board certified, and licensed creative arts therapist in NY and NJ with over a decade of clinical experience. She specializes in working with adults and adolescents looking for personal enrichment, and who may be seeking treatment for anxiety, depression, eating disorders, the psychological impacts of long COVID and/or the psychological impacts of working/living through COVID, and life transitions.

She takes an integrative, humanistic approach in her practice, utilizing both the creative process and talk therapy in a flexible, client-centered way. You don’t need to be an artist or know much about art in order to try art therapy. It’s simply an alternative way to explore thoughts and feelings, and a viable tool to work toward symptom relief and goals.

Message to clients

My ideal clients are those who are invested in getting to know themselves more authentically. If you’re up for putting in some meaningful work, and also want to celebrate your small wins along the way, *maybe even with a few laughs* please reach out! I’d love to learn more about you.

I have worked with a wide variety of clients over the past 11 years, and am so thrilled to now be part of the wonderful telehealth community! I take a client-centered, humanistic approach in my practice. I treat each individual as such, and I make treatment as collaborative as possible in order to work through each person's presenting issues and toward their goals. Many of my clients have reported lifting of symptoms within only a few sessions, and continued improvement thereafter.
