Professional statement

Jack Rubin is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate located in NC. He works with adults, including couples, who would like to improve their relationship to emotional distress. This includes the relationship to feelings like anxiety, burnout, and shame as well as perfectionism. Many of Jack’s clients face anxiety or depression because of previous traumatic experiences, and he has personal experience with the debilitating mental health impacts of chronic pain.

Jack’s approach to therapy incorporates mindfulness, growing clients’ self-awareness both within and outside of the body. Clients learn how to become more mindful of their emotions, understanding more about the origin of those emotions. By looking at well-being from both a mind and body perspective, Jack offers clients relief from their distress through Somatic Experiencing therapy, where clients can unlock the parts of their body that hold pain and trauma. Clients also benefit from Internal Family Systems therapy and integrating the many parts of their lives for a more comprehensive, aligned lifestyle.

Jack earned a Master’s degree in Counseling, with Bachelor’s degrees in Philosophy and World Religions. He has a strong connection to music, having played the guitar for over 20 years, and teaches mindfulness practices in different contexts to help people ground themselves and find peace.
