Professional statement

Dr. Jessica Weis is a Clinical Psychologist located in Driggs, ID and is able to see clients in Idaho, Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming. She specializes in helping individuals who experience anxiety, depression, and relationship conflicts. Her clients turn to her for help when they begin to feel overwhelmed, especially by their emotions and clients find they are not living life in line with their values. As a BIPOC identified clinician, she is passionate about helping clients who belong to minority identity groups and supporting them through challenges that go with being a person of color, part of the LGBTQ+ community, and other marginalized groups/identities.

Dr. Weis’ approach to working with clients is collaborative and trauma-informed, which aims to create a strong therapeutic relationship. Throughout the course of therapy Dr. Weis learns about her clients through their lived experiences, stories, ideas, and values. Her approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, and Attachment Theory.

Dr. Weis earned her doctorate from Pacific University in Oregon, after completing a predoctoral internship at Wasatch Behavioral Health in Provo, UT. She then completed a postdoctoral residency at the Clark County Community Consortium in Vancouver, WA where she received specialized training in child/adolescent psychology. Her doctoral training emphasized evidence-based practice and culturally competent psychotherapy, research, and academic teaching. She has experience conducting psychological assessments, psychotherapy, and professional training in a variety of settings, including hospitals, schools, juvenile detention, community mental health clinics, and residential treatment centers. Dr. Weis strives to make every client feel comfortable talking about their experiences. Her goal is to empower clients to learn more about their mental health, grow healthy habits, and live a life that is in line with their values.
