Professional statement

Psychotherapy is a deeply personal process, and your relationship with your therapist is the most important factor in determining the success of your treatment. I am passionate about working with teens, young adults, and adults with moderate to severe mood disorders, trauma and PTSD, attachment issues, grief, and familial conflict. We will work together in identifying and resolving underlying issues that are contributing to your distress, closely attuning to how unresolved past experiences are informing your current functioning. We will explore your internal experiences and schemas, and how they can translate into your interpersonal relationships. These dynamics are often enacted through the therapeutic relationship, allowing for a corrective experience.

While I primarily work from a psychodynamic perspective, I also integrate skills-based therapies, such as dialectical-behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and cognitive processing therapy (CPT). These approaches provide invaluable skills for coping with trauma symptoms, emotion regulation, interpersonal functioning, and distress tolerance.

I am on staff at Massachusetts General Hospital, where I work with the hospital’s most complex psychiatric patients. My prior experience includes community mental health, school-based therapy, and substance abuse treatment. I completed a post-grad fellowship in psychodynamic psychotherapy and am currently enrolled in advanced DBT training at Behavior Tech.

I offer both in-person appointments at my office in Belmont as well as Telehealth sessions. I do not accept insurance, but I can provide the necessary documentation to submit for out-of-network reimbursement. A limited number of sliding scale appointments are available for those that cannot afford the full fee.
