Sarah Mehta is a queer, BIPOC, neurodivergent (ADHD) therapist and entrepreneur. She is passionate about supporting queer, neurodivergent, AFAB women and gender-expansive professionals of color who work in the creative or service/helping industries (including other therapists, doctors, teachers, marketers, real estate agents, and more). Many of her clients find themselves struggling to sustain their physical, mental, and emotional energy, questioning the impact of their family upbringing on their adult lives, or feeling lost, confused, disconnected, or frustrated in their current or historical relationships.
Sarah primarily uses Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with her clients, which is a unique approach that focuses on teaching practical skills to help individuals develop an effective relationship with painful emotions, thoughts, and sensations. Sarah also offers EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Processing), which supports individuals by connecting them to their own unique strengths and resources to help them process recent or past trauma.
Sarah's sessions usually involve a diverse combination of verbal processing, psychoeducation, and skills practice. She considers therapy an active process and often assigns skills or reflective activities for her clients to complete outside of sessions. Sarah also weaves in humor, pop culture references, and metaphors throughout her sessions. She frequently references the impacts of systemic barriers, such as capitalism, heteronormativity, the patriarchy, weightism, sizism, queer and transphobia, racism, and abelism, while working with clients.

I use an OON billing service, Thrizer, to support with verifying OON benefits for my clients and submitting OON claims. If you choose to use your OON benefits, then you agree to pay my full private pay fees; otherwise, you will need to use sliding scale fees and will not be able to receive potential reimbursement via your OON benefits. If you do not want to use Thrizer, I can provide monthly superbills for you to submit to your insurance company on request. Please note that using Thrizer or submitting your own superbills does not guarantee that your insurance company will reimburse you for our counseling sessions.
