Professional statement

Tyler Gordon is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with a private practice in the great St George Utah area, where he welcomes individual adults, couples, adolescents, and children who are seeking to create change in their lives.

Many of his clients bring in emotional pain, whether the symptoms of anxiety and depression are taking a daily toll, relationships feel unbalanced and disconnected, or stress and self-criticism are impacting performance at work or school. Together, he supports clients to pull back the layers of present challenges in order to release painful past experiences and re-engage with their passions, purpose, their loved ones, and themselves in more meaningful ways.

Therapy sessions with Tyler integrate both insight-oriented and skills-based approaches such as Acceptance Commitment Therapy. He gently challenges clients to explore the root cause of their symptoms, gaining new awareness into their emotional and relationship patterns. At the same time, he focuses on practical strategies, with an emphasis on relaxation and meditation practices, to help clients feel better in the here and now.

He brings a special awareness to the healing power of the mind-body connection in regards to trauma, depressions, and anxiety, Tylers office serves as a safe harbor to freely process emotional pain and find relief.

Tyler is committed to maintaining an inclusive practice. With a background in the Substance abuse field, non-profit 501c3, and trauma therapy, he is particularly sensitive to the recovery process, and welcomes anyone looking to help advance the cause toward better mental health and being a part of the changes needed to heal our communities.

Message to clients

I am so honored to be able to work with people who voluntarily want to change their situation toward better mental health. It can be very difficult to talk about difficult pasts and I encourage you to begin to "treat yourself like someone you are responsible for helping" (Jordan Peterson).

therapy is designed to create a space for people to be who they are without judgment and it is my goal to help you understand yourself better and learn the skills to improve your life.
