Practice Information

The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at SCP provides intensive, time-limited treatment for people struggling with a wide variety of mental health concerns. Unlike traditional therapy and medication management -- which involves maintaining long-term progress in treating a mental health issue -- the goal of IOP is to make a significant change in your mental health in a relatively short time, getting you back on your feet and living life more fully. IOP is a great option for people who are finding their typical weekly outpatient care is not meeting their needs at this time, or who are stepping down from more intensive treatment programs.

We emphasize client-focused, evidence-based, and personalized care that provides support while minimally disrupting your life. All sessions take place in a virtual format, so you can receive treatment from the comfort of your home. The program meets Monday through Friday, with group and individual sessions occurring between 9am and 12:30pm. Your length of stay in the IOP is flexible and depends on your individual treatment needs. The average length of treatment is typically 4-6 weeks.

Collectively, the IOP team has many decades of experience working in mental health. With internationally recognized expertise, our team is well-equipped to serve you. The IOP team is also committed to providing a safe, nonjudgmental space where everyone can learn and grow together. We embrace diversity in its rich and complex forms found throughout the human experience.

FAQS

What services does your practice offer?

Our program is based in cutting edge, evidence-based, third wave behavior therapies with documented effectiveness in treating a range of psychological concerns. A vast body of research confirms that treatment in mid-level care settings like IOPs can significantly improve symptoms such as anxiety and depression, as well as your ability to engage fully in work, hobbies, and time with your family. This effect is achieved through a comprehensive approach to your mental health:

Comprehensive Diagnostic Interview - Gain a better understanding of your mental health

Personalized Psychiatry - Meet with a doctor daily to find the right medications for you

Individual Therapy - Create new habits to live your best life

Group Therapy - Learn new skills and get the support and understanding of your peers

Family Meetings (Optional) - Express your needs and discuss care with loved ones

Care Planning - Find support and plan for the next steps in your recovery journey

What are your practice's specialties?

Our program is a generalist IOP, which means the program is designed to be broadly applicable to a range of mental health concerns. We draw from evidence-based interventions with a strong research base, and that impact human functioning across diagnoses.

Reasons why people choose to attend our program vary, but commonly include:

- Ongoing symptoms of low mood, sadness, or depression

- Intense and persistent anxiety and/or panic

- Difficulty interacting with friends, family, and co-workers in an appropriate manner

- Struggling to complete daily tasks at home or work

- A decline in function in everyday life

- Stressful life events that are experienced as overwhelming, such as loss of a loved one, sudden change to medical symptoms, divorce, or work stress

- Trauma, abuse, or PTSD symptoms

- Rapid and unmanageable mood symptoms that seem to change daily

How does payment work at your practice?

SCP IOP is in-network with multiple health insurances. We will work with you to identify what coverage your plan provides, and if you have a deductible, establish a payment plan prior to the start of program. If you do not have one of these health insurances, a private pay option is available.
