Hello There!
I am a double board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and Family Health Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) with a post-doctoral graduate degree from Brandman University (now University of Massachusetts Global). I have experience working with adolescents, adults and seniors in multiple settings facing various complex mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, insomnia, ADHD, trauma, and mood disorders.
A bit about my approach to therapy:
I approach each patient as a unique individual and tailor the patient's care accordingly. I use a combination of talk therapy and medication management as needed to ensure well rounded treatment. Most importantly, you can speak freely without fear of judgement or shame
What you can expect from our first session:
Clients can expect to gain a better understanding of their treatment plan, as we work together, collaboratively with other members of your team to help you achieve the best version of yourself. Typically, during our initial meeting, I will inquire about the reason for seeking care, past history, treatment trials and response to past treatments, current symptoms as well as goals for treatment. I also provide evidence based recommendations for medications only when indicated. I provide medication teaching and offer clients the option to take time in deciding what treatment part to follow. This often means scheduling a second meeting before prescribing medications. I prescribe medications during initial visits for clients who are ready and willing to pursue this route (if clinically indicated). Every client is unique, so what happens during the initial and subsequent meeting is solely based on clients goals for treatment and readiness. I also provide supportive counseling during meetings. I make referrals to other healthcare disciplines as indicated.
