Message to clients

People often come to me having lost their way. You may be holding feelings of dissatisfaction and helplessness; you may be plagued with self-doubt, struggling in relationships, or even numb to feeling emotion. It may be a challenge to envision new possibilities for yourself in school, work or home. Amidst endless options of technological connection, being seen and heard for who you are is exceedingly rare.

As your psychiatrist, I am never solely a “prescriber.” This term undermines your need to be psychologically and personally understood and accepted. While medications are extremely important when appropriate, I first and foremost offer you authenticity in relationship. I strive to know and acknowledge you, to be sensitive to the feelings around you. I support and also challenge you to bring new possibilities from imagination to actuality. You can and deserve change.
