Aaron Shragge is a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist with an office in the Upper West Side of Manhattan specializing in anxiety, depression, trauma, relationships, mindfulness, and addiction. Drawing from personal experience as a performer, his practice integrates traditional talk therapy with creative expression. He is passionate about using creative art mediums to help clients naturally express themselves and release distressing emotions.
Aaron uses a unique combination of music and verbal psychotherapy to explore challenging emotions, promote personal growth, and help clients achieve their goals. For clients recovering from trauma, in particular, he especially enjoys using music therapy in a safe and supportive environment to facilitate healing even when words are difficult to find.
Aaron welcomes young adults, adults, and couples to his practice. Having had extensive experience working at an HIV clinic, he has a special interest in working with individuals navigating the emotional impact of addiction and mental illness. His practice is located steps from the 72nd Street Broadway subway station.
