Master of Science, MS - Mental Health Counseling Licensed Professional Counselor, LPC Master of Science, MSWelcome! Amanda Shub is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 13 years of experience working with people dealing with trauma, life transitions, anxiety, sadness, and relationship stress. She works well with clients who want to understand their own behavior and thinking patterns, gain compassion for themselves and work to unwind things that might feel stuck to create a life that feels congruent and full.
Amanda uses a caring, eclectic and personalized approach to help you identify your goals and then tailors your treatment approach to you.
Talk therapy is helpful and can help you gain valuable insights and awareness. However, sometimes talking is just not enough. Research has shown that experiences and trauma are stored in our bodies and sometimes a more somatic (body focused) approach might be helpful to address certain issues. She uses EMDR a research-based tool to process things including, but not limited to, trauma, stress responses, body image issues, relationship patterns and past negative experiences. Sometimes you know the “root” and sometimes not. Either way, Amanda can work with you on what is not working in your life today and help to uncover what beliefs or experiences, whether they seem “big” or “small”, that might be holding you back. EMDR is like a reboot for your brain and body.
It is important to have a safe, supportive and encouraging space to learn more about yourself and your strengths as well as what you want to change. Amanda provides an open minded, encouraging and safe place for the healing and changes that you want to make. Whatever you are dealing with, she will work in a way that is specific to you and your situation. Reach out today for a complimentary consult to discuss your needs and see if it is a good match.
