Aubry Koehler(She/Her/Hers)

Dr. Aubry Koehler is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist located in Clemmons, NC, neighboring Winston-Salem, NC. Dr. Koehler enjoys helping couples and family build healthier relationships. She often supports individuals who would like to heal their relationship patterns so they can once again feel connected to their loved ones. Many of the couple and families that work with Dr. Koehler arrive at therapy due to difficulty communicating about important issues, adjusting to a new phase of life, or repairing after a painful event. Others work with Dr. Koehler when they’re going through a divorce, separation, or when blending families. Dr. Koehler practices attachment-based therapy modalities, specifically Emotionally Focused Therapy, which means that she often encourages clients to reflect on the relationship patterns they learned in their early years. She offers clients guidance on building secure attachment in adulthood so they can reduce the impacts of harmful relationship patterns. She also teaches clients how to pay attention to and value their emotions and the emotions of their partners or family member, so they can grow their empathy and see the conflict from another perspective. Dr. Koehler sees relationships as existing in a system, in which the different relationships in an individual’s life impact each other. She helps clients practice expressing their needs and setting boundaries to protect their own wellbeing.

Dr. Koehler holds Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy and a PhD in Medical Family Therapy. She has over 10 years of experience as a therapist and is passionate about providing affirming mental health services, no matter an individual’s identities or relationship preferences. She believes that therapy can be a transformative experience and warmly welcomes clients into her practice.
