Professional statement

Autumn loves difficult cases; working with trauma is not for the faint of heart. Having a client suffering from nightmares, insomnia, envisioning and reliving the terrible moments be able to get rid of those symptoms and live a better live than ever before is her favorite thing. She works with teens and adults in the areas of: trauma, anxiety, grief, guilt and shame, and reframing thoughts to feel happier and more "normal" on a daily basis.

Having been taught eclectically, Autumn uses a combination of styles to do what is best for your case, not a cookie-cutter approach. She is trained in: cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT says your thoughts influence your actions, and vice-versa), motivational interviewing (MI uses questions to uncover and get you closer to your goals), trauma techniques (TF-CBT, Rapid Resolution Therapy - a short-term therapy using storytelling to access the subconscious), and is a certified clinical hypnotherapist (CHt is great for utilizing the subconscious to do the heavy lifting of deeply held beliefs and difficult subjects like rape, combat, bad breakups, and bad childhoods.

Autumn has been working with clients since 1998. She has been a case manager, therapist, and clinical director of substance abuse treatment centers. She has worked with children, teenagers, and adults. She has worked with severe depression, delusional disorder, schizophrenia, obsessive-compulsion, addiction, anxiety, and trauma. She has been in private practice since 2010.

All sessions will be conducted by telebehavioral health (video), so you can see her from any state she is licensed in, where ever in the state you are, without having to commute. She loves video sessions because it allows her to help more people and you don't have to cancel if you have a cold or your car is in the shop.

Message to clients

I utilize humor, laughter, and a direct, honest approach in therapy. You will never dread an appointment with me.

I became a therapist because I wanted a job where every day can be different, and I can help people. My goal for you is to lead your best life, as you. I will never try to change who you are, but will look for patterns in your thinking and behavior that are keeping you from joy and success, and bring them to light so you can explore and correct the ones you choose to change.

I am not interested in pathologizing you and seeing what is wrong, but in seeing and developing what is right and thinking about you as a person who developed some means of coping with life, despite and because of what you have been through. I enjoy assisting clients with their growth and having them blossom under my care.

I'm LGBTQIA+ and kink- and poly-friendly.

Now, schedule a brief call to see that we're a good fit, and get started with making you the best version of yourself.
