Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW Specialties • Insurance & Fees • LocationsBetsy Colvin is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is working on line through telehealth. Betsy Colvin provides expert care for teenagers and young adults who experience distressing emotional states. She gives her clients a safe space to talk about what’s stressing them out, weighing heavily on their minds, bothering them at home or school, or leading them to dark thoughts. Some of Betsy’s clients resort to unhealthy behaviors to cope with their pain. Betsy helps those clients process through their pain and adopt healthier ways to manage their emotions.
Betsy’s approach to therapy draws from many evidence-based modalities. She teaches her clients about the importance of attachment and feeling connected to others. She also encourages them to explore how the relationships early in their lives impact their current ways of connecting with others. For her younger clients, she uses play therapy or parent-child interaction therapy to help clients express their emotions, especially the ones that are difficult to put into words.
Betsy earned her Master’s degree from Dominican University. She is an expert at helping teenagers and young adults process through the challenging feelings that arise at that time of life. She teaches her clients how to cope with their emotions and move forward in their lives.
