Bianca Fields is a mental health counselor located in Long Island. She works with individuals, primarily the adolescent and adult populations. Many of Bianca’s clients are working with anxiety, depression, or more serious traumas and looking for ways to ease their mind . Bianca is particularly passionate about serving individuals going through any transitions, current college students, members of the LGBTQ+ community. She also has experience in handling individuals with chronic illness, emotional regulation issues, and grief/bereavement.
Bianca primarily utilizes a combination of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), client-centered, and mindfulness techniques. Through a CBT lens, we begin to understand how our thoughts and behaviors are connected and intertwined. A client-centered approach lets Bianca meet her client where they are and incorporate many different techniques that would work best for them! Mindfulness, and other more holistic approaches, allows for more balanced and calm thought processes. Depending on the context of the session, Bianca might lead her client into some grounding techniques/ breathing exercises. This approach supports clients to understand themselves at a deeper level, find inner peace, and give them the ability to be their authentic selves.
Bianca's style is non-judgmental, engaging, and thoughtful. When clients first start therapy, she will work to create a strong therapeutic environment where they feel understood and start to understand their goals..
Bianca received her Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Long Island University. She has interned with a local domestic violence shelter, worked at community group homes providing support to those with severe/persistent mental illnesses, and worked at a community agency to provide mental health services. Outside of private practice, She loves to read (fantasy/sci-fi), practice yoga/meditation, and play with her dog and cats.
