Professional statement

Brittany is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience working with high-functioning teens, professional adults, couples, and their families. Many of Brittany’s clients seek her services to better manage stress and worry, heal trauma, make changes to find more happiness and improve relationships. Other concerns commonly addressed in sessions include anxiety disorders, depression, career coaching, ADHD, identity, parenthood, perfectionism, poor personal boundaries, and substance abuse.

Brittany’s style is professional but relatable, warm, and dynamic. She is dedicated to creating an open and collaborative relationship with her clients. Brittany focuses on the concerns you want to address while identifying and examining your life's broader themes and context. This approach supports clients in building authenticity, balance, and concrete skills to utilize outside therapy to manage life in a new and more positive way.

As an eclectic therapist, Brittany draws from different therapeutic approaches to create individualized experiences for each client. Brittany has received advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectal Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Emotion Focus Therapy, Attachment Therapy, Gottman Method, Solution Focused Therapy, Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), Emotion Focus Therapy, and Strength Based Therapy.

Brittany received her Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California with a concentration in mental health. She received training through her prior tenure at highly respected clinical institutions, including the University of Texas Psychiatry Department, Texas Children’s Hospital, and Memorial Hermann Behavioral Health Services in Houston, TX. Outside of private practice, Brittany loves being active, exploring, and spending time with her family.

Brittany offers psychotherapy in-person in Downtown Lake Forest, IL, and by Telehealth in Illinois, Texas, Arkansas, and Kansas.

Message to clients

Are stress, worry, and your long to-do list keeping you up at night? Are you stuck thinking about challenging relationships, old wounds, or traumatic experiences? I have helped many like you find their version of success personally and professionally and find inner calm by empowering them to create change. Many of my clients seek a supportive space to better understand hard experiences and relationships, explore emotions, examine thought and behavior patterns, draw on strengths, and improve their ability to cope. Together, we find the solutions to feel more joy, experience fewer sleepless nights, and reinvest in life positively.

It can be so helpful to have a place to express yourself freely and honestly without judgment and to tease through old wounds, trauma, and those unhelpful ways of thinking. I provide this space for my clients by building a supportive relationship.

You will find empathy, vulnerability, and honest feedback (going both ways) woven throughout the therapeutic process with me. I love hearing your stories and providing education to help you have better insight into yourself and what is happening in your mind. My hope is that my clients walk away from therapy feeling as if they have the tools, ability, and self-love to troubleshoot the things life throws at them and thrive in ways they did not feel they could before. Slow down, lean in, and make this time for yourself! Get started by scheduling a free consultation with me to see how we can work together.
