Cassidy Litvack is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Midtown Manhattan who works with teens, adults across the lifespan, and parents. Many of her clients are millennials who are navigating major life transitions, like graduating college, moving to NYC, figuring out what they want to do with their lives, starting a new job, questioning their identity, and/or looking at their relationship to drugs and alcohol. She relies heavily on the relationship between her and the client, what's happening in the "here and now" and emphasizes a client's history, including one's childhood and the environment in which he or she grew up. She also has extensive experience in anxiety, depression, and alcohol/substance abuse.
Having received training from The Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis, Cassidy’s approach is relational and interpersonal and based in psychodynamic theory. While she is interested in long-term work, she will also implement elements of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) if someone is interested in that.
Cassidy creates a safe and support space, where clients can be vulnerable and bring to the space whatever it is they feel is troubling them or they want to better understand.
She received her masters in counseling from Columbia University and completed comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) training through Behavior Tech.
