Now Accepting In-Person Clients On Wednesdays in San Diego!
Cynthia Valentine, LMFT, works with smart, creative, high-achieving individuals who feel overwhelmed by their emotions. Her clients are often adults with ADHD, deep thinkers, and sensitive souls who have built successful lives but struggle with self-doubt, burnout, and emotional exhaustion. They may feel disconnected from themselves and their relationships, caught in a cycle of avoiding difficult feelings out of fear that facing them will be too much. Cynthia helps her clients break this cycle—not by suppressing their emotions, but by learning how to engage with them in a way that fosters clarity, confidence, and real connection.
Cynthia’s therapy approach is warm, collaborative, and deeply validating. Specializing in Internal Family Systems (IFS), she helps clients understand the different parts of themselves—the inner critic, the overachiever, the protector—and create a more compassionate relationship with their emotions. As a Level 1 Trained IFS Therapist, she deeply understands the nuance of complex emotions. Her approach reassures clients that they don’t need to “fix” themselves—just learn how to relate to their emotions in a way that feels safe and empowering.
As an ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider, Cynthia understands the unique challenges that neurodivergent adults face, particularly when it comes to emotional regulation, burnout, and self-worth. She creates a judgment-free space where clients can explore their struggles without fear of losing control or being consumed by their emotions. Cynthia also emphasizes the importance of human-to-human connection in an increasingly AI-driven world—her work is rooted in the belief that real healing happens through genuine, compassionate relationships.
Cynthia offers both telehealth and in-person therapy for clients in California and telehealth therapy in Hawaii, and Michigan. If you’re ready to stop avoiding your emotions and start building a more centered, intentional life, reach out today to schedule a consultation.
