Professional statement

Dr. Dana Rosen is a clinical psychologist at the Young Adult Behavioral Health Clinic at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island. She specializes in treating anxiety, depression, trauma-related disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, grief, life-transitions, and relationship difficulties. She has expertise in working with young adults and primarily works with undergraduate and graduate students.

Dr. Rosen integrates mindfulness-based and behavioral treatments to target the client's goals for therapy. She collaborates with clients to create a treatment plan that implements evidence-based interventions, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She works with clients to create insight into how and why their problems have developed, help reduce their emotional and experiential avoidance, and cultivate a life that is more consistent with their values.

Message to clients

My goal as a psychologist is to create a supportive, trusting, and non-judgmental space where, over time, you can grow comfortable to share openly. Through the intake and therapy process, I aim to help increase awareness of your patterns of emotions, thoughts, and behaviors that may be getting in your way. From there, we will work together to figure out your treatment goals and move towards them at a pace that works for you. Sometimes, this looks like learning to sit with difficult or big emotions, and at other times, it looks like taking action to face fears or build relationships. I hope to be there along the way as a compassionate and encouraging collaborator.
