Professional statement

Deveney is a lifelong advocate for those with traumatic experiences, including serious mental health issues, substance use, assault, neglect, and abuse. She has worked with those of all ages but specializes particularly in adult survivors. In her work, she uses a psychodynamic and Humanistic approach. To address specific core beliefs and their resultant behaviors, she utilizes predominately Cognitive Behavioral and other interventions, such as art, music and writing. She has been in the mental health field for the past 20 plus years and has served her community throughout that time.

Deveney is available in person for those who live in the Harrisonburg, Virginia area. She is also available via telehealth for those who are unable to participate in person. In order to participate via telehealth you will need a way to print out, sign and scan back documents to my practice, as well as access to the internet and a telehealth platform.
