Professional statement

Diane Nadler,LCSW-R, BCD is a licensed Clinical Social Worker with offices in NYC and Hurley NY. Diane has been a psychotherapist in private practice for many years. She specializes in trauma (childhood and adult), anxiety, depression, life transitions, career counseling, stress management and the mind-body connection. Her practice is open to adults, couples and families. Additionally, Diane has a special interest in working with creative clients, and invites them to bring their work into the therapeutic space.

Diane’s approach is down to earth and relatable, putting clients at ease so that they can make genuine progress in treatment. She is skilled at incorporating Psychodynamic and Mindfulness-Based Psychotherapy, as well as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), inviting her clients to explore and strengthen their “distress tolerance” and manage their emotions.

Diane greatly enjoys helping her clients to uncover the authentic and healthy aspects of themselves, creating a space where they can honor their values, become more authentic and feel more comfortable in their own skins.

Message to clients

I believe that Psychotherapy can be transformative - where what is already in you gets to grow, expand and take comfortable shape.

For me, the goal of Psychotherapy is to be more authentically yourself, as you would like to be, and to feel comfortable in your own skin. It is to be able to get in touch with and feel strong emotions without having them take control of you, and without dampening your personality and passion. It is to have deeper, more authentic and satisfying relationships with yourself and others, because you are able to emotionally know, and sit with, yourself.

I help clients achieve their goals by working collaboratively in a therapeutic relationship. This allows clients to experience being seen and listened to non-judgementally. By employing creative questions and exercises, I help clients explore different facets of themselves. The concrete skills that clients develop help them to navigate emotions and relationships mindfully.

I would be honored to work with you.
