Dr. Earta Norwood is a Clinical Psychologist who sees individuals living in VA via video sessions. She specializes in anxiety, depression, identity development, relationships, trauma, and working with women and young adults who are navigating trying to find their way in their careers and/or need support in learning how to advocate for themselves. She sees teens 15 and older along with adults across the lifespan. She speaks English, Polish, Albanian, and Italian.
Having received training in both behavioral and insight-oriented therapies, Dr. Norwood is able to seamlessly blend together treatment approaches to offer her clients an individualized plan that takes into account their specific concerns and goals. When working with a client with anxiety, she typically starts with behavioral strategies before moving into emotional work that explores how past experiences have influenced who they are today.
Dr. Norwood’s style is warm, non-judgmental, and flexible. Having lived in three countries on two continents, she experienced a wide range of cultural backgrounds and uses those experiences in therapy. She received her PhD from the University of Maryland College Park and completed her clinical internship at the University of Virginia.
