Professional statement

Ileana is licensed in Rhode Island as a Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) who provides individual psychotherapy services to children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. Ileana received her Master’s of Social Work from Rhode Island College. She has worked in the mental health field working with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults for over eight years. Ileana is a fluent Spanish speaker, who welcomes all clients looking to improve their mental health and overall well-being.

I am a Hispanic therapist, who speaks Spanish to help the Spanish community with accessing services. I have experience with immigration services, such as, political asylum letters. Hablo español, y tengo experiencia con servicios de inmigración, como cartas de asilo político.

For me, collaboration, communication, and honesty is key in the therapeutic process.

I draw from different therapy models in my client-centered psychotherapy approach, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I believe it is essential that the individuals I work with feel safe, respected, and heard in order to be able to engage in effective psychotherapy work. I am passionate in helping others create the positive changes they are looking for.

My passion in life is in helping others learn how to live their life to its fullest potential, and to find their true selves and the happiness that lies within. Remember, “the fears we don’t face become our limits.” -Unknown.
