Janet LeMoal, LCSW, CASAC-2, is a licensed clinical social worker and a credentialed alcoholism and substance abuse counselor who possesses extensive experience in working with diverse populations. Subsequently, Janet worked on homeless medical teams at the Institute for Family Health, where medical and mental health services were brought to churches, soup kitchens, and community centers, including the Ali Forney Center. During her tenure at the Institute, Janet actively participated in the LGBTQIA+ committee, focusing on the inclusion of the LGBTQIA+ community through initiatives such as modifying forms to be more inclusive and arranging staff training sessions. Janet and members of the LGBTQIA+ Committee presented on LGBTQIA+ issues relating to inequality in health outcomes at the NASW (National Association of Social Workers) conference in Washington, D.C. After concluding work at the Institute, Janet went on to provide mental health and addiction services at the HIV/AIDS Clinic at Brooklyn Hospital and the Sexual Health Clinics of New York City. Finally, Janet worked in community mental health, primarily working with people living with Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, anxiety, and depression.
