Message to clients

I believe it takes courage to first acknowledge there's a problem in our lives and then it takes additional courage to reach out for help. What prompts us to begin that journey is different for everyone. It could be feeling overwhelmed by transitions in one's life, struggling in relationships and/or career, or feeling stuck and unable to live your life as fully as you'd like.

As a seasoned therapist I approach treatment based on the idea that once we become consciously aware of our unconscious behavior we are better able to self-regulate, self-soothe, and make better, different choices in our lives.

Feeling we have choice in our lives is empowering and I work with you to uncover the thoughts that might be keeping you feeling stuck. My approach is to help you learn to identify your needs so that you can articulate them without fear of abandonment or retaliation. I will help you familiarize yourself with your feelings and learn to manage them instead of feeling overwhelmed by them.

Finding a therapist can be daunting. While there are a multitude of treatment approaches available today I believe the most important instrument of change is the relational fit between the patient and the therapist. To that end, I aim to create a safe, collaborative and relational space for growth and change to occur.
