Professional statement

We all face challenges in life. Being able to talk openly about them in a supportive, non-judgmental environment can be extremely helpful. Andy Bradshaw is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who specializes in working with people with OCD, anxiety, and substance use disorders. He is a warm, collaborative therapist who takes a pragmatic approach to therapy, helping clients develop tools they can use to lead happier, more fulfilling lives.

Andy uses a range of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). In addition to OCD, anxiety, and substance use, he also helps people with depression, grief, relationship challenges, and work/career issues. Whatever your goals may be, he wants you to come away from your sessions feeling like you’re getting the support you need to overcome challenges in your life.

Andy offers sessions by video and in-person in Walnut Creek. In addition to his private practice, Andy has worked in hospice, school, and community center settings. Before becoming a therapist, Andy worked for advocacy groups focused on education, disability issues, and international development. In his free time, he enjoys reading, movies, and being in the outdoors.

Message to clients

I've struggled with some of the same issues in my own life that I focus on in my therapy practice. I know how challenging and frustrating they can be. I also know it's possible to make significant improvements and get your life moving in a direction that you're happier with. Whether you're looking for help with anxiety, OCD, substance use, or some other challenge, I offer a safe space to talk openly about your problems and evidence-based tools to help you address them.

I offer in-person sessions in downtown Walnut Creek and video sessions to anyone in California. I also offer free 20-minute consultation calls--if you're interested, please feel free to schedule one in the calendar provided here. I'd love to get a chance to talk with you, learn a little about what you're struggling with, and discuss how I might be able to help.
