Professional statement

Justice Lightfoot, MSW, LSW, provides trauma-informed telehealth therapy for adults across Ohio. She works with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma-related challenges, grief, and major life transitions, helping them better understand their experiences and move toward greater stability and confidence.

Many of the people Justice works with have a complex trauma history that feels difficult for others to understand or accept. They feel overwhelmed by stress, stuck in discouraging patterns, trapped in a pattern of unstable relationships, or are unsure on how to move forward after difficult experiences. She creates a supportive and structured therapeutic environment where clients can slow down, reflect, and begin developing healthier ways of coping while emphasizing the importance of feeling heard, safe, and supported. Justice focuses on how trauma affects all aspects of her clients' lives and the best way to support them moving forward to lead them to a more positive sense of self and future orientation.

Justice’s approach is grounded in Motivational Interviewing, trauma-informed care, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She helps clients understand how past experiences influence present thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while building practical tools that support meaningful and lasting change. Through identifying and processing trauma, her clients see an improvement in how they handle situations, function daily, and support themselves.

No one should feel alone or misunderstood and Justice has worked hard to create an inviting, welcoming space to hold people in moments of trauma, discomfort, and pain. Her goal is to help clients gain clarity, confidence in their coping abilities, and a stronger sense of direction as they work toward emotional balance and personal growth.

Message to clients

Realizing that you may be unable to carry things by yourself is a difficult feeling; starting therapy can be even more difficult. If you feel stressed, anxious, depressed, alone, unheard, unsupported, or hopeless, therapy may be the difficult first step in a rewarding healing journey. Many of the people I work with have a complex trauma history that causes them to feel as if no one else could possibly understand or accept them. I pride myself in creating a space where people are validated and given space to fully feel their feelings without judgement. I feel confident in my ability to be objective in tough situations while also allowing the people I work with guidance on how to best continue their personal journey and growth as a person.

I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and major life transitions. My approach is compassionate and practical — I help you make sense of your thoughts and emotions while building tools that support meaningful, lasting change. If therapy has not felt successful to you before in the past or if you feel that you have not met the right therapist, I would love to support you in changing that feeling.

Together, we will explore your history and develop strategies that help you feel more grounded, confident, and in control of your life. If you’re looking for a therapist who will listen without judgment and support you in moving forward with clarity and stability, I’d be honored to work with you.
