Many of Kate's clients come to therapy feeling weighed down by anxiety, depression, or a life transition that has left them feeling disconnected from themselves or unsure of their next steps. Others find themselves repeating familiar patterns in their thoughts, emotions, relationships, or behaviors and want to better understand why those patterns persist. Whether facing a current challenge or seeking deeper personal growth, Kate provides a space to explore what is happening beneath the surface while also working toward meaningful change.
Kate's approach is integrative, insight-oriented, and grounded in evidence-based practice. Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Jungian psychology, she helps clients develop a deeper understanding of themselves while building practical tools to navigate life's challenges. She has a particular interest in working with dreams, the unconscious, and the deeper patterns that can shape how we experience ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us.
Prior to private practice, Kate worked in both outpatient and psychiatric hospital settings, where she developed a strong ability to help clients identify core concerns and move toward meaningful solutions. She also spent many years working in educational settings, giving her a broad perspective on human development, resilience, and change.
Kate is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS) in Holistic Clinical Counseling from Salve Regina University and a certification in the Foundations of Jungian Psychology.
She offers in-person therapy at Serenity Integrative Counseling in Newport, Rhode Island, as well as secure telehealth sessions for adults throughout Rhode Island.
