Professional statement

Katelyn Aguiar is a Licensed Clinical Psychotherapist and Certified Partner Trauma Therapist based in Wichita, KS, who works with clients ages 18 and up. She focuses on betrayal trauma, depression, and anxiety in women. Clients may be struggling with faith in their partners after discovering maladaptive sexual behaviors (pornography use or affairs), trust in self after a trauma, or trust in their faith through the hardships they are experiencing. Katelyn is particularly sensitive to clients discerning needed boundaries for healing in interpersonal relationships and strives to help clients identify the options between point A and point Z.

Katelyn's approach is strengths-based and person-centered, helping to empower her clients to utilize their innate strengths. As a Certified Partner Trauma Therapist (CPTT) through IITAP, she is particularly passionate about working with betrayed partners after discovering infidelity or compulsive sexual behaviors. Katelyn approaches the healing journey from a trauma-informed lense to help restore a sense of dignity and self to betrayed partners.

Katelyn is focused on responding to client's needs and equipping them with tools to move forward as they navigate change. A trauma-informed therapist, Katelyn is sensitive to the influence of past experiences on present challenges, and works closely with clients to reframe the narrative of their life in a way that increases self-confidence and compassion, through use of EMDR therapy.

Katelyn's first priority in starting with a new client is ensuring that they feel safe, heard, and validated. As a seasoned telehealth provider, she offers the ability for clients to access betrayal trauma and/or faith-based care throughout Kansas.
