Professional statement

Kathleen Walsh is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist providing teletherapy sessions throughout California and Colorado. She works with adults of all ages. Many of Kathleen’s clients come in to address trauma, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, and/or spiritual issues. Kathleen is particularly passionate about serving those interested in healing trauma and exploring relationship issues and she has advanced training in the area of trauma and PTSD.

Kathleen is trained in Brainspotting, Mindfulness Approaches and primarily uses a Client Centered Approach. As a somatic psychotherapist, her orientation is to use the mind-body-spirit connection to heal trauma and connect more deeply to one’s authentic self. In session, Kathleen uses a variety of modalities which can include talk therapy, Brainspotting, meditation, centering and breathing exercises to help calm and focus the body/mind, as well as creative expression through intuitive development, body/movement, art or journaling. These approaches support clients to move beyond trauma and to experience more joy, to heal relationships, and to be able to make choices that are aligned with their inner truth.

Kathleen's style is warm, compassionate and non-judgmental. When clients first start therapy, Kathleen will establish a working relationship through understanding the client's perspective of their history and issues, and what their goals are for therapy. She will provide a safe and compassionate space for clients to explore and to heal.

Kathleen received her LMFT from the California Institute of Integral Studies. Her experience includes working at local agencies focusing on healing trauma with clients of all ages and her own personal journey spanning several decades of deep personal and spiritual transformation. Outside of private practice, she can be found hiking and exploring in the mountains.
