Professional statement

Katie Overcash is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker located in Charlotte, NC. Katie works with individuals who experience depression, anxiety, PTSD, grief, relationship issues, as well as those undergoing major life changes such as divorce, navigating a new job, or moving. Katie is passionate about helping motivated clients find balance in their lives and process through painful experiences from their past.

Katie combines talk therapy with Yoga and Neurofeedback to heal the mind, body, and brain. Through Yoga and movement, Katie supports clients’ relaxation and exploration of their bodies, prompting a greater sense of inner connection. By utilizing Neurofeedback, client's brains will learn how to regulate more effectively that will bring more calm, stability, and overall balance. Her goal is to support clients in feeling more regulated, finding more self-love, and have improved relationships in their life.

Katie earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Alabama. She has additional certifications in Yoga, specifically Restorative Yoga, practices the Othmer Method of Infra-Low Neurofeedback, and has extensive trainings in trauma. Her dedication to her clients’ mental and physical health creates a feeling of holistic care from which clients feel empowered to take control of their lives and find joy and peace.

Message to clients

Are you carrying around more than you need to? Bogged down by the past or future? Want to feel more connected to yourself in order to find more calmness and stability? In my 17+ years as a mental health therapist, I have found that at the core, so many people struggle with emotional regulation. When the foundation is rocky with sleep and moods, people find it hard to be their authentic selves, have relationships they enjoy, and achieve the goals they have for themselves. We could use talk therapy, Yoga and Breathwork, Neurofeedback training, or a combination of these to help you feel more equipped to manage life's ups and downs.

With talk therapy, I use methods such as supportive, cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, mindfulness, and psycho-education. In Yoga, I am a “Relax and Renew® Advanced Trainer” through Judith Hanson Lasater, practicing Restorative Yoga. I am Othmer-Method trained in Neurofeedback.

We have all been through pain and suffering in our life and I want to be there to support you in healing from any of it or currently walking through it. It's ok to ask for help.

I am a highly motivated therapist and tend to offer lots of resources for my clients to explore on their own between sessions.

I am accepting of any religious or non-religious affiliation, sexuality, ethnicity, or gender. Let's explore what you need to have the life you want for yourself!
