Dr. Creswell is trained in eye movement desensitization & reprocessing (EMDR), which helps you to break through the emotional blocks that keep you from living an emotionally healthy life. In session, Dr. Creswell focuses on your current and past experiences to help you obtain reconciliation, acceptance and stabilize emotionally. This approach supports you to organize your negative and positive feelings and thoughts, while working through the disturbing memories.
Dr. Creswell’s style is supportive and non-judgmental. When a client first comes in, she creates opportunities for you to feel safe and secure within the environment so that you can begin to gain back control of your life.
Dr. Creswell is dedicated to creating therapeutic relationships that are collaborative and nurturing. Additionally, she is devoted to providing an affirming and inclusive practice, which serves as a secure and protected environment for people who identify in the LGBTQIA and BIPOC communities. In addition to her office in Edgewater, Maryland; Dr. Creswell offers the flexibility and comfort of virtual therapy sessions.

Depression - Providing support and promoting healing of hopelessness, low motivation and energy, sadness, irritability, sleep disturbance, and loss of interest and pleasure in life
Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder)
LGBTQIA, gender, and sexuality topics - Exploring topics of sexuality, gender, and identity; coping with discrimination and oppression; navigating relationship, family, and cultural challenges
Adjustment difficulties & disorders - Support around adapting to new and/or challenging life circumstances; skill-building for improved stress management and reduction of anxiety.
