Lisa Cavedo is a Licensed Professional Counselor serving the Austin, TX area metro as well as all areas of Texas via telehealth, who has experience working with individuals across the lifespan; including children and families. She specializes primarily in the treatment of trauma, abuse, and anxiety disorders with adults. Lisa utilizes evidence based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), Mindfulness, Attachment- Based, and Person-Centered, among other compassion driven approaches.
EMDR is a treatment technique that facilitates the reprocessing of traumatic memory. Scientific research has established EMDR as an effective modality for the treatment of post-traumatic stress, phobias, panic attacks, anxiety disorders, stress, sexual and physical abuse, disturbing memories, complicated grief and addictions.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or CBT is a short-term, problem-focused psycho-social form of treatment that helps identify the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.'
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy is an approach to psychotherapy that focuses on a collaborative method between mindfulness meditation practices and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Techniques.
Many of Lisa’s clients have experienced trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, as well as relational and family issues. By utilizing a multidimensional framework, Lisa is able to meet clients where they are emotionally, while safely exploring any barriers to progress.
Lisa is focused on creating a safe space for the client to challenge themselves and begin to release the emotional weight that has been holding them back. This interactive, non-judgemental style helps clients to recognize the progress they are making during their healing journey.
