Masters of Business Administration, MBA Psychologist, PhDDr Matthew Syzdek is a clinical psychologist practicing in Minnesota and 28 states. He built a boutique practice that is tailored to the needs of busy professionals, stressed out college students, and adolescents struggling in high school.
Many therapists are overworked and burnt out. You deserve a specialist in a boutique practice who has the expertise, time, and mental space to dedicate to you and your treatment. Dr Syzdek’s specialties include the treatment of depression, relationship and interpersonal issues, anxiety, OCD, and men's mental health.
Dr Syzdek started treating depression as part of a large research study on behavior activation. Dr Syzdek tailors this approach to your life to help you figure out what is keeping you depressed and what about your life needs to change so you can once again feel enjoyment, accomplishment, and meaning in your day.
Research has also shown that relationship and interpersonal issues can keep you stuck and unhappy. Through years of training and thousands of hours with clients, Dr Syzdek is able to detect how other people experience you, so he can provide you unfiltered and authentic feedback about your interpersonal style. You then have the opportunity to practice other ways of relating to people.
With clients struggling with anxiety, worry, panic, or obsessions, Dr Syzdek integrates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy combined with exposure therapy to help people to confront their fears, worries, and obsessions so they can live a life beyond anxiety.
Dr Syzdek has been researching men's mental health and treating men and adolescent males for over 15 years. He helps men find meaning in their life that goes beyond just masculinity and coaches them to confront their problems so they can have more fulfilling relationships, career, families, friendships.
