Professional statement

Michael Gacnik, founder of Preparing for Tomorrow, has an extensive background of working with individuals and families as well as youth and adults in a variety of mental health areas.

Michael’s Philosophy is, “If you change your perspective, you can find the good in even the darkest of corners.” As your counselor, Michael will provide an empathetic, safe and confidential place for you to work through those dark corners of your life.

Michael’s professional experience includes working with older youth in a residential setting who struggle with behavioral and mental health issues, including inappropriate sexual conduct, Oppositional Defiant Disorder and more. He has also spent time as a central Ohio caseworker working closely with families involved with the Juvenile Court system. Most recently, Michael has 10 years of experience counseling dual diagnosed adults.

Michael earned his undergraduate degree in Psychology from Heidelberg University. He then continued his education earning a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University and became an Ohio Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).

Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression or any other issue, I will help you recognize underlying problems, fully realize your strengths and adjust certain behaviors and thoughts to see things a different, healthier way.

My practice specializes in treating individuals, couples and families and I offer comprehensive services dealing with:

Relationship Issues

I believe that all clients deserve to have easy access to mental health services. For that reason I have a very accessible schedule and I routinely strive to ensure all clients can get in for services within a minimum of one week from initial contact with Preparing For Tomorrow Counseling Services.
