Professional statement

Nataleigh Kohn is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in the Hudson Valley of New York. She specializes in providing evidence-based behavioral therapy to teens and adults, both individually and in groups. Treatment will always be uniquely tailored to each individual client, drawing primarily from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), as well as trauma-focused methods.

Nataleigh's approach balances acceptance and validation of the challenges that clients bring to treatment, with the simultaneous need for change. Her work pulls from various types of therapy, depending on what is most appropriate for you. Working with Nataleigh will be collaborative and iterative, while also structured and purposeful.

Nataleigh obtained her Master of Science in Social Work at Columbia University in New York City, and has subsequently worked as a therapist in NYC public schools, outpatient clinics at social work agencies, and in private practice. She has completed extensive training in CBT, psychodynamic therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Focused CBT, and intensive training in DBT. She is currently accepting clients both in-person at an office in Rhinebeck, NY as well as via Telehealth.

Message to clients

Hi, and welcome to my therapy practice. I’m glad you’re here! I love working with people to understand their own patterns of thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and relationships. All of these patterns have a root cause, and have served you in some way at some time—even if they are now proving to be unhelpful or harmful. In our work together, we will come to better understand the problems you face, develop a plan to make a change, and then put that plan into action.

Regardless of your particular reasons for seeking a therapist at this time, I will always prioritize your personal goals, identity and values—some of which may very well evolve over time. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you are looking for a therapist and think we may be a good fit.
