Professional statement

Natalie Marc is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Wove Therapy in KTown, Manhattan who specializes in depression, anxiety disorders, phobias, life transitions, chronic illness/medical conditions, career counseling, stress management, and trauma. Many of Natalie’s clients enter therapy unsure of what is causing their symptoms. She also has extensive experience working with individuals who have a history of sexual abuse, physical abuse, developmental trauma, or trauma due to injury that resulted in permanent disability.

Natalie’s treatment approach is grounded in Psychodynamic Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She focuses on helping a client develop more insight into who they are and what is causing their symptoms before creating an action plan that will help them develop strategies on how to overcome current and future barriers and challenges. She also teaches her clients how to problem solve around handling their current situation and how to move forward without the symptoms they are experiencing. When working with clients with a history of trauma, Natalie honors their pain and makes a concerted effort to create a place of safety where clients feel comfortable sharing their experiences when they feel ready. For clients who need more support or are interested in medication, Natalie provides them with a list of providers who can help.

Natalie is dedicated to her work and is always continuing to learn about new approaches to ensure she is providing her clients with the gold-star treatment. She has an introductory certificate in CBT and continues to attend a lot of CBT trainings and workshops. She also has completed trainings on trauma at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy (ICP). Her office is located in KTown near Herald Square.

Message to clients

For me, becoming a therapist was never about a need to over achieve or to establish a profitable business. Instead, it was motivated by the compassion that I feel when I witness people struggling with the burdens and discomfort that life brings. My mission as a therapist is to be the support you need; to empower you to face what you fear; and to challenge/ encourage you to develop into your authentic self.
This is done by helping you heal from pain, address what you avoid, change what you can, manage what’s unbearable, and living intentional. These things can be worked on by equipping you with tools for productivity, forming realistic action plans, and tackling barriers along the way.
