Dr. Nina Thomas is a licensed psychologist with offices on the Upper West Side of Manhattan and in Morristown, NJ. She specializes in group therapy and working with couples, parents, and adults navigating life transitions. She enjoys supporting both couples and individuals at formative relationship moments across the lifespan, whether that be entering into a new relationship, considering future commitment, becoming a parent, contemplating separation, empty nesting, or finding renewed connection after decades together.
Dr. Thomas uses a primarily insight-oriented approach, taking the deep dive with her clients to get to the heart of their issues. She's particularly skilled at helping clients understand how the past informs their current decisions and relationships. Dr. Thomas also helps clients to implement mindfulness practices whenever appropriate. She believes in the importance of increasing awareness of the mind and body connection as well as the power of meditation.
With more than 20 years of experience in teaching, supervision, and clinical experience, Dr. Thomas is able to create an individualized treatment plan that helps clients reach their fullest potential. She holds a diplomate in Psychoanalysis from the American Board of Psychoanalysis in Psychology and is a Certified Group Psychotherapist. She looks forward to getting to know you at either her New York office just steps away from the 86th Street subway station or her New Jersey office in an historic building just blocks off the Green.
