Professional statement

Praysha Spearman can be described as a, "grounded sounding board." She transforms your life through practical application skills and makes trauma therapy less scary. As a highly attuned peacemaker, Praysha supports you through your worst days. Instead of feeling helpless or fatigued, you can avoid burnout while continuing to do what you love best: helping others. If you're the pillar of strength for everyone around you, it is time you learned how to support others without neglecting or sacrificing your personal needs.

Praysha has experience treating complex trauma since 2015. Her background includes providing individual and group therapy for a battered women's shelter, registered sex-offenders, Georgia's Headstart program, an adolescent crisis center, and her private practice, Renew Therapy LLC. When Praysha is not working she loves spending time with her husband & two giant-breed dogs, traveling the world, and trying new foods.

Message to clients

As a mid-career professional, trauma is the last thing you want to talk about. You’re doing more than surviving- by many definitions, you are thriving! However, most people don’t know your story. You long to show up authentically at work, in your family and with friends, but you struggle sometimes with feelings of inadequacy and self-esteem.

If you think, "Maybe a therapist will understand my story without feeling burdened by it. Maybe they will listen without judgement, and help me sort out everything that has happened," you're absolutely right!

Learn how to set healthy boundaries and negotiate new boundaries when needed. Prevent future problems from turning into emergencies and mental health breakdowns. Imagine yourself having plenty of options for handling relationship problems before they happen. Imagine yourself feeling renewed and at peace with everything that has happened.
