Professional statement

Robert Harris is a licensed clinical social worker in Georgia whose passion is helping people develop new ways of thinking, feeling, and relating. His goal in therapy is to create and support a safe and trusting working relationship so that you can grow authentic connections and begin the process of healing and personal growth.

He has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults suffering from depression, anxiety, psychosis, PTSD, and behavioral disturbances. With over 20 years of experience working with individuals and families in crisis, he brings empathy and the ability to create a trusting, safe and authentic therapeutic relationship.

Sessions will offer a safe therapeutic environment for your concerns to be heard. Robert will help you build on your strengths while using new skills, coping techniques, and insights to bring about positive change. The first session will orient you to therapy and identify treatment goals and your desires for change. Together you will identify the causes of stress in your life and devise a treatment plan.

Robert's treatments include CBT, DBT skills, behavioral modification, and cognitive processing therapy. Self-assessment and formal assessments measure progress toward your goals and drive any changes that may need to be made during treatment.

Robert's goal in therapy is to provide the tools and coping skills to help you navigate issues. His training is in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which focuses on changing the negative thoughts we experience. The goal is to work to change this negative thinking into a more realistic and optimistic view. His goals for you are to improve your quality of life, help create meaningful change and build a sense of belonging and self-worth.
