Professional statement

Dr. Sarah Jasinski is a Clinical Psychologist at Providence Psychology in Providence, RI. She specializes in trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, anger management, relationships, and stress management. She also has experience working with clients with insomnia. She especially enjoys working with individuals who have had a tough experience before in therapy.

Dr. Jasinski primary approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), but she does utilize elements of other therapies, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), based on a client’s needs and goals. She spends time building rapport and trust with new clients before developing an individualized treatment plan that prioritizes their concerns.

Dr. Jasinski strives to create a therapeutic environment where emotional concerns are approached with respect, collaboration, and a non-judgmental stance. She received her PhD from Kent State University. She then completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Syracuse VA Medical Center and her post-doctoral fellowship at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Her office is conveniently located near Brown University in the Wayland neighborhood. She looks forward to meeting you.

Message to clients

I understand how vulnerable it can feel to come in and talk to a stranger, especially if you're brand new to therapy. I value the importance of the therapist-client relationship, and how necessary trust is in this context. I prioritize helping clients feel comfortable, respected, and understood from the very beginning and throughout the course of therapy. The first appointment is really a chance for me to get to know you and what you're looking to get out of therapy, and also for you to see if you think this would be a good fit. There's no pressure to commit upfront, so I encourage you to come in and try it out.
