Licensed Master Social Worker, LMSW Master of Social Work, MSWSonya Farrell LMSW is a Mental Health Therapist using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Theory, Motivational Interview and Mindfulness Therapy to intuitively support clients in reaching their goals. In her work with families impacted by mass incarceration, she gained specialized experienced with parents/caregivers with adolescents/teens. She takes a family systems approach to trauma, substance use, and emotion dysregulation issues.
In a warm, empathic space (both in person and/or using telehealth platforms) she works with each individual to overcome obstacles, negative thought patterns, and maladaptive behaviors. Using interventions and modalities specific to each client, she assists in processing thoughts and feelings, identify and untangle issues to find their inner strength and voice.
Supervised by Dr. David Abrams PhD (License #00527). she has earned her LMSW, and graduated from Columbia University SchooI of Social Work in Advanced Clinical Practice for her MSW. She is currently in training and pursuing the DBT-Linehan Board Certification.

Eating disorders & disordered eating - Reducing unhealthy eating patterns, beliefs, and behaviors, such as restricting, purging, and binging; healing the emotional pain surrounding disordered eating
