Stephanie Manes is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with offices in SoHo and the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Stephanie works with both couples and adults navigating relationship challenges. As a couples therapist, she helps clients disentangle from conflict, restructure communication, recover after infidelity, re-evaluate relationships, navigate co-parenting, etc. She also has a program to help couples prepare for marriage. Stephanie provides one-on-one therapy to help her clients improve their relationship with themselves and the world around them, and works extensively with high-performing professionals and artists manage the stress of succeeding in New York City.

Stephanie is a sex-positive therapist and welcomes clients from all gender identifications, sexual orientations, and relationship preferences.

Stephanie's work is tailored to meet the needs and goals of each client. She draws from extensive training in several modalities and theoretical frameworks, including advanced training at the Ackerman Institute for Families, the Institute for Psychoanalytic Study of Subjectivity, and with thought-leaders in the Buddhist psychology. Stephanie also holds a law degree and is a trained mediator. She continues to train and supervise other therapists in the field of couples therapy.

I believe wholeheartedly that there is no shame in struggling (it usually signals growth ahead) and that we meet our struggles best with the help of others. I offer a place of non-judgement, where I help people develop insight, a sense of cohesion and authenticity, and resilience in the face of challenges.
