Life can be challenging: relationships, life changes, routine experiences can be distressful and even traumatic. It often helps to get a deeper perspective on your distress and how it affects not only your emotions but your mind, body and spirit as well. I will help you take a holistic and even artistic approach to whatever you bring to therapy. Together we'll explore who you are and empower that person to take on life's stressors with a new and powerful outlook!

When children are struggling, one of the hardest things for the adults in their lives can be a child’s inability to verbalize what is bothering them.  Children, especially young children, communicate primarily through their play and behaviors. As a therapist working primarily with children, I incorporate play therapy and expressive arts techniques into my treatment in order to meet children where they are at.  In my six years of doing therapy with children, and from my training as a family therapist, I have come to understand how critical parents and caregivers are in the treatment process. I view my role both as a facilitator of children expressing and processing their emotions as well as a coach for parents to help them understand what their children are communicating and how to respond in the most helpful ways.  Helping children with emotional difficulties is a team activity. I look forward to speaking to you and seeing if I would be a good fit for your child’s team.

Have you ever just wanted someone to get down to the root of your problems emotional, physically and spiritually? You know something is wrong but you just can't put your finger on it? If you have patterns of emotions and behavior that interfere in your relationships and dismantle your sense of self, I am able to sort out the pieces of the puzzle with you, put them together in a way that makes sense and help you to arrive at a place of peace and control over your life. I take patients who are serious about making changes - not just emotionally, but also physically and spiritually - and that have the courage, energy and investment in time to do the work.

If you are looking at my profile, chances are you are feeling confused, upset, possibly in emotional or physical pain. My first goal in therapy is to understand what you are going through and to help you sort out your concerns within the context of a safe and compassionate relationship. More simply, I want you to feel understood and cared for. My wish is to create a space where you can begin to heal and find ways to build a more satisfying and purposeful life, in your relationships with others and in how you see yourself.

Therapy is an invitation to a different kind of relationship – it is all at once open and vulnerable while also reliable and purposeful. Of course, like any relationship worthwhile, it comes with its own set of challenges: Do we “click?” Are you learning something about yourself and the world around you through this time (both during and after a session)? Are we comfortable providing each other feedback? Are we doing the work of healing?

It is as much about what the therapist can offer and the ways in which they can validate your truth as it is what you would like to and are ready to bring to the table at your own pace.

As such, I see myself as the facilitator of this bold, empowering process – you take ownership of your decisions, including the positive ones that showcase your inherent power to engage in life in the best way possible for you.

I am a licensed clinical child psychologist. I work with children, adolescents, and their parents. My primary areas of expertise are anxiety, ADHD, emotion regulation, and behavior management. I work collaboratively with families to help you reach a point where you no longer need my support. I am also available as a resource throughout your family’s life, just like a primary care doctor is, to help as the need arises.
In the course of our working together, I will find out quite a bit about you and your family. You may be curious about me as well. My education and work experience are listed. When I am not at work, I enjoy being with my family and friends, reading, and being outdoors.
