Neurodivergent Mutual Aid Group

Description

All prospective group members must complete a confidential questionnaire and an initial consultation call with me before being accepted to the group. Each session, group members will authentically relate, provide support, and engage in experiential activities to develop the existential trust, self-support, and sense of safety to more fully exist in the world. Through this process, members will co-create nourishing and loving relationships.

Group Therapist

Peter Linden is a licensed clinical social worker specializing in highly educated neurodivergent adults over 25 who struggle with social ostracism, anger, homophobia, transphobia, and advocating for their needs, all of which manifest as low- to medium-support needs autism, ADHD, and other learning disabilities.

Peter Linden utilizes gestalt psychotherapy, a present-oriented therapy that helps clients understand how their repetitive ways of thinking, feeling, sensing, experiencing, and communicating are getting in the way of what they want in life. As clients become more aware of what they are experiencing in the moment, they can more easily communicate their needs, develop relationships based on love, and unmask.

Peter Linden has an extensive background in psychotherapy, as demonstrated by receipt of a Master of Social Work from New York University, a clinical fellowship in gestalt psychotherapy from Gestalt Associates for Psychotherapy, and experience with neurodivergent adults in public health and private practice.

Peter Linden provides virtual individual, couples, and group psychotherapy sessions to clients in CT, HI, NJ, and NYS. Peter Linden also offers in-person sessions for NJ based clients out of his home in Montclair, NJ.

Before sessions can start, Peter Linden will conduct a 15-minute consultation call with you. The consultation call will explore your reason for seeking therapy and whether Peter is best suited to help. If Peter decides that you would be better served by another experiential and relationally oriented psychotherapist, he will refer you to one of his colleagues or locate clinicians in the community.

After identifying that you are a good fit for therapy during the consultation, Peter will email you the required onboarding documentation and schedule an intake, which is a 2 hour interview to better understand your reason for seeking therapy. Once the intake is finished, a weekly session will be scheduled.
