Description
This 8-week Grief and Loss Group will facilitate the mourning process and help with depression and anxiety. The group will provide you with emotional support as you work through grief in a safe environment. Participants will build coping skills to improve day-to-day functioning and begin to come to terms with loss.

Group Therapist
Dr. Tracy L. Thomas is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and the owner of Thrive: Counseling and Psychological Services in Washington, DC. She specializes in treating anxiety, issues with physical and emotional intimacy, and depression. She also works with clients who feel isolated or crave stronger social connections, even if they might have flourishing professional careers. She works with adults across the life span providing individual therapy.
Dr. Thomas' integrative approach uses techniques from evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as relational and attachment-based work. This enables her to provide highly individualized treatment. She combines a knowledge of practical strategies with an in-depth understanding of relationship patterns to help clients enhance their overall functioning. She also frequently brings in mindfulness techniques when helpful.
Dr. Thomas also specializes in the treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). In this work, Dr. Thomas utilizes the research-backed modalities Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She combines motivational work with exposure, as well as homework and occasionally out-of-office exposure. Dr. Thomas can help clients with specific phobias, including driving and flying.
